In 1948 it was beat by the very stuffy (by today's standards) Hamlet. Where as "Treasure" still looks as good as ever.

Buy used from: $18.45 Ratings forces a TV network to comprise itself and it's audience. Lost to "Rocky" in 1976, as did "All the President's Men". "Rocky" is good but not as good as "Network" or "...President's Men"

Buy new: $5.49 / Used from: $4.46 A down on his luck screen writer finds money and some comfort with a past her prime silent film star. This one got beat by "All About Eve" in 1950. "Eve" is a great film, but watch both in one day and you'll see the difference.

The 1956 Oscar also could of gone to "The King and I" or "Giant" as well, but in the end it was given to the over wrought "80 Days Around the World".

Buy new: $17.99 / Used from: $3.00 A young boy and his boxing Dad try to get back some lost glory. 1932's winner was the muti-plot "Grand Hotel" which is an enjoyable film, but "The Champ" is a classic.
