Excellent Book on Worship and the Lutheran Confessions!
This is an excellent book on worship! It takes a look at the worship styles of other denominations, and then delves into the Lutheran Confessions to discover what worship is! It discusses Word and Sacrament very well, and blends similar articles from the Book of Concord into easy-to-read studies of the Book of Concord! At the end of each section, a summary is given; and the book is written in catechetical form. German and Latin texts are given, in case that's of use to you. If you're not fluent in either, you can skip over those footnotes without missing anything major. This book puts the Book of Concord together with Scripture in a straightforward, easy-to-read format. Professor Brauer assembles key elements of the Book of Concord into a smooth read, perfect for those completely new to Lutheranism, while also providing a worth-while read to even well-read pastors. I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to study the Lutheran Confessions!!!
