Cynical, world weary and reckless, NYC cop Popeye Doyle takes out the Euro-trash!

When a bail of cotton stuffed with laundered cash shows up in Harlem, detectives "Coffin" Ed Johnson and Gravedigger Jones are on the case. Humor, action and some cool cameos highlight this very good adaptation from Chester Himes' work.

Roy Scheider leads a unit of cops who use unorthodox methods to crack tough cases. This one has some great action and car chases and a very atomospheric New York feel.

Wow, New York is so real here that you can almost smell the garbage piling up in the streets and feel the heat rising up off the pavement. Pacino botches a bank robbery and things go really haywire.

Ok it takes place in Boston instead of New York but you still get that 70's feel. You also get burt Reynolds and Raquel Wlech running around with guns, tracking down mad bombers and some fire happy punks. More a rowdy comedy than a thriller, it still has some good action and it's lots of fun.
