Average customer review:Product Description
Circulon guarantees that food won't stick to this casserole, and that it will outlast all other non-sticks. Now those are words to live and cook by! The patented rings provide a hi-lo cooking surface that gives food little to stick to, and the additional coating of non-stick material closes up any loopholes. So go ahead, make a rich cheesey casserole, it will slip right out of the pan. Holes in the lid of this pan also allow you to use it for cooking pasta, potatoes and other foods in liquid. When the cooking is completed simply tip and drain off the cooking liquid through your choice of small or large holes.

Amazon.com Review
Coated inside and out with rugged nonstick, Circulon 2 cookware eliminates the chore of scrubbing pots and pans. Inside their bottoms, Circulon's patented Hi-Low system of concentric grooves creates narrow ridges to take utensil abuse, leaving low, wide grooves unscathed to readily release food and ensuring long life for the nonstick coating. Beneath the nonstick is harder-than-steel anodized aluminum. Pot and pan bottoms are left uncoated to conduct heat quickly and prevent hot spots. Slip-resistant synthetic grips on riveted, polished, stainless-steel handles stay cool on the stovetop and go safely in an oven up to 350 degrees F. Heavyweight, 18/10 stainless-steel lids polished to a mirror finish present a gleaming contrast to the attractive, charcoal gray, enamel-like appearance of Circulon 2's nonstick exterior.
This 5-1/2-quart casserole pot comes with a cleverly designed colander-like lid that locks onto the pot with a twist. On its sides, patterns of holes (one set small, the other large) allow liquid to be poured from the pot without the lid slipping. That means pasta can be drained right in the pot before sauce is added. Or braising liquid can be poured off for saucemaking. In addition, the Hi-Low concentric grooves climb an inch or so up the pot's rounded sides, permitting thorough stirring and scraping without damaging the nonstick coating. Without its lid, the pot stands 4-5/8 inches high and measures 10-1/2 inches in diameter. It carries a lifetime warranty against defects and should be hand washed. --Fred Brack

Incredible.
What a great pot! I was a bit skeptical at first, though I loved my other Circulon pieces and desparately wanted a straining pot, and this really exceeded my expectations.
Like all Circulon 2 products, totally non-stick-- I made angel hair this evening in it, after straining (and we'll get to that in a second), I was stunned to see that even sitting in the pot for several minutes, the chewy al-dente I cooked the pasta to never resulted in any of it sticking-- on my previous pot, I'd be fighting to get the last several strands off the pot.
I was also a bit nervous about heating-- this pot is much shorter than comparably sized pots and is much wider, but it heated quickly and evenly.
Now, the locking mechanism-- seal was tight. I experimented filling it with water and picking it up by the handle on the top when locked. No problems. Turned it upside down, water out the holes only. When I actually strained something with it, I was pleased to see that with minimal effort and shaking, I was able to get all the water out (I did have to jostle it a bit to unsettle any trapped liquids, but no moreso than I would with a typical colander).
Highly recommended, I have a sneaking suspicion this will be a new favorite in my home.
So easy to use and convenient!
I've owned this pot for over a year and absolutely love it. No more fussing with a separate colander to strain spaghetti. The pot is stick-free and easy to clean, too. It's a must-have item.
I'll have you know, I can boil water...
Due to a confluence of circumstances four years ago when I was in the market for a new set of cookware I was able to try out 10" skillets from Analon and Circulon classic. After using each for a few days, I felt the Circulon unit with its' ridged non-stick interior surface heated more efficiently and was easier to clean. After a price check, I decided to purchase the full set. However, when I saw the subtle changes in the beveled interior configuration of the Circulon2 cookware I decided to opt for this set. I have been pleased with performance ever since.
One of the sales points for me was the ready availability of open stock items, including this straining colander pot. Whereas I have a preference for grease, my wonderful spouse enjoys a wide variety of pasta and the locking straining lid of this pot makes preparation a breeze. You can completely invert this pot and the lid stays securely in place. Other than in the case of oven use, the handles remain cool to the touch so potholders are seldom required. It heats evenly, never requires any oil, is fast and easy to clean and with minimal effort looks like it's brand new.
If you're not familiar with Circulon, give this pot a try and I would be surprised if you don't end up going out and purchasing a full set
