Incredibly beautiful!
Incredibly beautiful! that's what everyone says after hearing this album. Here are the comments of the document going with the CD. And it is true! Here is an excellent compilation of famous arias played with solo of guitar, oboe, violin,flute.... with chamber orchestra driven by Leppard or Marriner which makes it even more attractive... Interesting to note the transcription of the Bach's harpsichord concerto in oboe by Heinz Holliger. This artist is phenomenal and we may appreciate his large contribution to this record as an added gift. Also the two concerto extraits by Gheorge Zamfir are magnificent with the panpipes. We can highly recommend this record for people who love beautiful classical music, played with top class artists and for relaxing everyday! By the way this collection by Philips seems quite an achievement for its selection and quality of sound. Look also after the Bach at Breakfast or other albums.....for discovering classical music there is nothing better.

Great CD to listen to at work
I play classical music in the morning at work. This CD has had more people ask me "What CD is that? - Where did you get it?" than any other in my rather large stack. This CD's music slips into the background and provides an atmosphere that is great to think by. You can have a discussion while it plays and it doesn't interfere. The perfect CD for the working environment.

This is pleasing, pastoral music picked to relieve that which tenses up our bodies and souls.

Turn on this excellent baroque collection from the likes of Vivaldi, Telemann, Handel and Pachelbel (among others) superbly played by such virtuosos as Rampal, Holliger et al.

Sweeping instrumental arias are so relaxing! This one will soothe the savage beast as well as those tired bods.
