Bach Edition: Complete Works (155 CD Box Set)Bach Edition: Complete Works (155 CD Box Set)
Buy new: $125.99
If this isn't the bargain of the century in classical music, nothing is. The entire set of all Bach's extant works, most excellently played, for less than the price of dinner for four. No kidding.
Haydn: Complete String QuartetsHaydn: Complete String Quartets by Angeles String Quartet
Buy new: $167.98 / Used from: $92.14
Haydn invented the string quartet, and if you find them as lovely as most do, you'll want this comprehensive set by the Angeles Quartet. The playing and the recording are excellent, and reasonably priced for a 21-disc set. You can certainly find truly outstanding separate recordings of these pieces by leading artists, but you'll not find them in one set executed with this level of skill.
Haydn: Complete Symphonies (33 CD Box Set)Haydn: Complete Symphonies (33 CD Box Set)
Buy new: $119.98 / Used from: $85.99
Although this set many not represent the ultimate in recording and performance, the performances are solid and the sonic quality good. This set allows you at one time to pick up the entire set of Haydn's 104 symphonies at a great price. Dorati's set may be somewhat better, but you'll pay for it.
Bach: ConcertosBach: Concertos
Buy new: $34.99 / Used from: $32.25
Potentially the standard by which all others are judged, this collection of Bach's Harpsichord Concertos is now priced at less than 75% of its original level in the 1980's, making it a no-brainer both by performance and cost views. Recording quailty is stellar, and Pinnock's performances superb.
Handel: Orchestral Works [Box Set]Handel: Orchestral Works [Box Set]
Buy new: $47.98 / Used from: $45.98
If you can still find it, this is an outstanding collection of Handel's orchestral works on the Archiv label. These are some of my favorite recordings.
Complete Symphonies (Box)Complete Symphonies (Box)
Buy used from: $61.99
Dorati's classic set has just been re-released, for the first time making this classic set available at a reasonable price. There may be some better recordings out there, but this set started much of the Hadyn cycle projects, and still remains a defacto standard for Haydn.
Haydn: Complete Piano TriosHaydn: Complete Piano Trios

Arrau's set is a standard by which others are frequently measured. Also included are solid recordings of the five piano concertos, which are among Beethoven's greatest accomplishments.
