Amazon.com Review
Contemporary styling and up-to-the-minute cooking technology make this Cuisinart Classic toaster oven a welcome workhorse in the kitchen. Built with a 0.5-cubic-foot interior, the 1500-watt oven toasts bread, bakes cookies, broils fish, and browns casseroles without heating up the kitchen. The oven holds up to a 5-pound chicken, six slices of bread, or a 9-inch pie, and the temperature settings range from 200 to 500 degrees F. Toasting controls include automatic temperature adjustment for perfect results, batch after batch, and an audible tone upon completion. With its black wrinkle exterior and tinted glass door, the oven is both streamlined and low-profile. The control panel is straightforward with three separate dials for temperature, function, and shade control. The oven's interior, complete with two rack positions and a rack safety stop, is lined with an easy-to-clean nonstick surface. The rack, crumb tray, and chrome-plated steel broiler pan are all dishwasher-safe. The oven measures a tidy 14.8 by 18.8 by 11.3 inches. Cuisinart includes automatic shut-off for safety and a three-year warranty against defects. --Emily Bedard

They need to recall these..1
I have owned our Cuisinart TOB-30 series for less then 3 months and we were very happy with it, until one day we noticed the unit would not shut off when turned to the off setting, the light would remain on and there is still being heat generated in the oven in the off position, then within a week, when you would turn the unit to the bake selection, it would not turn on and sparks would shoot out the back, only the toast feature remains working, and if you turn the knob to go through other settings sparks are generated. If you have the same situation I highly recommend you goto www.cpsc.gov the US Consumer Product Safety Commission and let them know of your concern, maybe we can get these recalled, it appears to be a faulty switch they are using. Im not hearing positive things about there service, but if you buy one, save your receipt and warranty information, you may need it and be aware of the unit at some point may not shut off unless you unplug it (if you go on vacation, etc)

Very Dangerous2
I bought my Cuisinart 30W Toaster Oven/Broiler on 12/11/2005. For Two months it worked Great, then I woke up at 8:30 a.m. Supperbowl morning to the smell of an electrical fire. Ran out to the Kitchen to discover that it was the Cuisinart 30W Toaster Oven/Broiler it had come on even though the switch was off. My Cuisinart Burnt up, I still had the reciept and returned it for a Kitchen Aid. Hopefully, the KitchenAid works without the defects of the Cuisinart.

Suggestion: Unplug the Unit after every use, even if it has an on/off switch.

Malfuncting dial switch, hazard - needs to be recalled by Cuisinart.1
My toaster oven (Cuisinart TOB-30W Toaster Oven/Broiler) is also malfunctioning as described above. The oven stays ON all the time, no matter if the dial switch is turned to OFF. The ON light is on and the upper heating element stays ON. The bottom heating element does not work now. It is mandatory to keep the appliance unplugged. I bought mine exactly one year ago at Christmas, and this malfunctioning switch problem just started this Christmas 2005. I hope I can find my receipt, however, I think the manufacturer should be notified and they should issue a credit for a purchase of a new revised model, and recall this particular model
