Amazon.com Product Description
At 0.63 ounces and 0.94 inches (24mm) square, the mobiBLU Cube DAH-1500i is the world's smallest MP3 player (as of January, 2006). This 512 MB player in silver is compatible with both MP3 and WMA digital audio files, and it has an integrated FM radio (with record function), voice recorder, and clock. The built-in lithium-polymer battery provides between 8 and 10 hours of battery life, and it can be easily recharged by a USB connection to your PC (via the included cable). It also sports a cutting edge OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) display that looks terrific and draws less power than conventional LCD displays.
The 512 MB mobiBLU Cube DAH-1500i will hold approximately 8 hours of CD-quality MP3 tracks (encoded at 128kps) or 16 hours of WMA tracks (at 64kbps). It's compatible with MP3, WMA, and secure WMA DRM (enabling you to play tracks purchased from online stores or downloaded from subscription services). The FM radio offers 20 presets, and it enables you to record FM programming to the Cube's memory. You can also use the built-in microphone and voice recording function to capture interviews, classes, and short voice notes to yourself.
It features five preset equalization modes--Normal / Rock / Jazz / Pop / Classic--and you can also customize equalization to suit your sound. It also offers SRS WOW virtual surround sound for a 3D soundscape and superior bass. The player can play MP3 files saved in multiple folders. Those files and folders can be selected and played as if in a Windows environment. Previous user settings and track location are automatically restored when the unit is powered on, in case of a sudden power loss.

Very Cute but Not iPod Replacement
This is one of the smallest mp3 players I have ever owned. I have three: the iPod mini, iPod video, and this, mobiBlu Cube. I first saw this mp3 player from a girl in my summer school class a few years ago. I thought about buying one then but I was using my iPod mini back then. Now, since everyone has an iPod, I thought I would go with something different. It didn't matter to me that it was only 512mb because I only listen to about 50 to 70 songs of my playlist. I just wanted something really portable, unlike my iPod video, which feels like a brick in my pocket.
When I bought this, I was considering portability and performance. It definitely is portable. It feels really small in my hand like a dice and it's so cool to wear around my neck. Trust me, wearing it will draw some attention to this tiny mp3 player. Using it as a necklace is useful and attractive especially when I don't have pockets to stuff my mp3 player into. I don't think it's hard drive based so it must be using flash memory. Thus, it makes it more portable than my hard drive based iPods because I don't have to worry about the hard drive failing....
In terms of performance, I have to admit the iPod beats it. The sound quality is alright, but I think the iPod's is better. The controls for the mobiBlu are awkward and sometimes I end up pressing wrong buttons to get to the menu screen. The screen is TINY. It's an OLED screen and the title of the track scrolls across it which is sometimes annoying to read. But, I know most of my songs anyway so the mobiBlu is more like an iPod shuffle. At least on the iPod, the screen is readable. The way the songs are organized is in folders and it's annoying to scroll down to find a song since it does not sort them for you. It does allow you to make your own folders but it does not offer advanced playlists. Battery life is decent, but could be better. It lasts several hours on a single charge. Not sure how long but not as long as my iPod. The added FM radio function is nice but the reception sucks. I have to go outdoors or hold it way above my head to get a decent signal.
All in all, this mp3 player is amazing to look at, hold, and wear. It's alright as an iPod alternate but sometimes I use my iPod because I enjoy the clickwheel and its simple navigation and setup. I would recommend this because it looks nice to show off with and it's an awesome trinket. At least when it does break down, you can use it as a necklace. =)
