From the Manufacturer
If you've struggled cutting tenons that fit, here's the perfect solution for precise tenons. CMT's new tenon cutting router bit will produce perfectly fitting tenons in every board you cut, even if the boards vary slightly in thickness. Simply set the distance between the cutters using the included spacers, and you can easily cut tenons from 3/16-in. to 3/8-in. thick, up to 1-1/16-in. long. This simple-to-use router bit takes the mystery out of achieving the excellent tenon-to-mortise fit required for high quality joinery.

Good tool, but spacers were missing
First of all Amazon's packaging was terrible. The tool comes in a solid wooden box that was loose in a larger cardboard box. Good thing there isn't really anything here to break.
There was a nice little DVD in the box which showed the tool being used. (It also showed other CMT bit sets being used, great marketing.)
The drawing in the box showed twice as many .1mm and .3mm spacers as actually came with the tool. I was unable to make a tight 3/8th inch tenon to fit the mortises I cut with my 3/8th inch hollow chisel morticer using all the supplied spacers. Amazon will take a tool back but there is no mechanism in place to get them to send you missing parts. CMT is an Italian company and their CMTUSA.COM website has no "contact us" info. So I ordered three .1mm and three .3mm spacers from an online router bit company that is unaffiliated with Amazon. P'ed me off but it was the easiest way. Set me back $10.50.
Once it has the correct number of spacers it cuts very nice tenons. It's a bit tricky to get the height adjusted to cut even cheeks but that's not the tools fault.
I give the tool 5 stars, Amazon 1 star and CMT 3 stars on this one.
So far, so good (except spacers)
Like another reviewer, I got fewer spacers than pictured in the little folder in the box. I couldn't make a tight 1/4" tenon fit, either. I ended up cutting a spacer from .030" styrene and that solved the problem.
This is by far the largest router bit I have ever used, and the thought and sight of that much metal spinning at high speed is a bit daunting. But for all that, it cuts nicely and is not intimidating to use (once you get used to the idea). Of course, you turn the router speed down and use the bit only in a router table. I ended up making a coping sled with toggle clamps to hold the workpiece. It's very easy to use that way.
This is one of those tools that takes much more time to set up than to use. I'm making an end table with something like 18 very similar mortise & tenon joints. This bit will save time in the long run.
Missing spacers
Like the other reviewers, I was unable to create a 1/4 inch tenon using the spacers supplied in the box. The instructions (which are very limited, and of little actual use) clearly state that if I use one 1/4 inch spacer and one 1/16 inch spacer, you will get a 1/4 inch tenon. Unfortunately, that produces a tenon that is about .230 inches (I used my micrometer). Other than that, it seems like a great tool. It appears I will have to make a .100 inch spacer out of something to be able to make this work, and for this price I really expected it to work "out of the box".
