Third volume in this mesmerizing series of Japanese mythos fiction

More Lovecraftian feel than conventional mythos - brilliant!

Not all Lovecraftian but some of the stories are, and Lupoff is excellent. Worth a look, at least.

Not all of these stories are mythos, but some are and Kiernan's prose is nothing short of astonishing. We are lucky to have such an accomplished artist interested in HPL.

These stories revolve around the Arkham of the game Call of Cthulhu by Chaosium. There are quite a few typos, and the level of stories is not as good as Hard Boiled Cthulhu, but I still found much to enjoy.

What a concept! Bogart like characters and the mythos! Packed with new stories by great mythos authors.

This collection is from Fedogan and Bremer, who have brought us many fine mythos titles. Fair Exchange was terrific, as was the story by Caitlin Kiernan.

Jeff Thomas, of Punktown fame, writes a mean mythos story too!

Lately the Punktown stories have all had overt and subtle Lovecraftian overtones. This book continues with the main character from Deadstock so it may be of interest to mythos fans.

Mythos Books has reprinted this indispensable collection from Pugmire. The hardcover sells for hundreds of dollars, and now fans have a reasonably priced alternative.

Some of these stories are Lovecraftian. Just about everything in the collection is well written and worth reading but I really hated the font.

A smashing good read from Chaosium, with stories by Conyers and Sunseri. Best of all, a follow on volume is in the works!

The first Horrors Beyond had some mythos stories and a very Lovecraftian feel. This one is centering around devices. A few stories were mythos and all were engaging. I liked this book quite a bit.

William Jones mostly works behind the scenes as an editor, compiler and manager of Elder Signs Press. He is also a pretty darn good mythos author and now has a collection of his own coming out. Pretty good read, worth a look.

Gary Fry is a young writer in the UK; this collection offers a fresh persepctive on old Lovecraftian themes.

Dan Clore is one of the literati of the Cthulhu mythos set. His stuff can be pretty cutting edge. Unfortunately, this title is about to go out of print.

This is another book from Chaosium of fiction based in their gaming world. Just like Arkham Tales used Chaosium's version of Arkham as a springboard, this one uses their more popular scenarios. AT was not a slavish recreation of a CoC campaign, unlike some D&D books I can mention. Given its success I have high hopes for this title.

I have some issues with Sargent's Lovecraftian fiction. I appreciate the amount of research he puts in and his historical accuracy, but the prose tends to pastiche and the plots are generally pedestrian, and, darn it all, I was mostly bored while reading them.

Not a Cthulhu mythos book per se but it uses many plot devices and themes common in Lovecraft's work. Whatever you call it, this book is a very good read.

I am a little hesitant to include this book here. My copy has languished unread for years, it is more than 10 years old and some stories have been reprinted elsewhere. Guess I'd better go read it..
