Saving Money and Resources
I received this thermos last week and love it. I got it to save money and added packaging. I can take juice with me to the office without buying smaller containers there and take coffee/tea with me on the go without a cafe run while out and about. It's slim and streamlined enough to tuck in my bag. Hot things stay hot and cold remain cold. I bought the "smoke" color and it's nice and sleek looking.

I'm wondering if the reviewers who complained of the screw top had defective products. I'm able to close it with ease. I just let the top fall naturally square against the threads and start twisting-- no issues here.

works, but there are better options
Yes, this works well as a thermos for hot or cold drinks, fits in a car cupholder, and is stainless steel rather than plastic. I bought two of these to take hot drinks and/or cold water to work. I don't know where they are because I quit using them.

I hate having to fool with two lids every time I want to open or close this bottle. The little cup is pretty well useless. The only use I could see for it is if you were using this thermos to carry mouthwash. As other reviewers note, it is handy for containing leaks if the lid isn't screwed down securely enough. But that's about it.

I bought a Nissan 18-oz hydration bottle Thermos Nissan Stainless Steel Hydration Bottle, 18-Ounce at the same time I bought the two insulated bottles. That is what I carry to work all the time now. I much prefer the hydration bottle because of the single-handed open/close to take a drink...handy when driving or working. I also like the fact that there is only one lid to unscrew to clean/refill it. Unfortunately, the hydration bottle is strictly for cold drinks.

But never fear, Nissan has a solution for me: the backpack bottle Thermos Nissan 16 Ounce Stainless Steel Backpack Bottle, Smoke Color...if you can find it in stock. It has the same advantages as the hydration bottle, AND works for hot drinks. I can take hot tea and cocoa to work again! Life is good!

In short, if you are thinking of getting this bottle, spend the extra money to get a Nissan's backpack bottle. The backpack bottle is by far easier to use and live with. I found some with a logo screened on them available for immediate shipment for less than $25/each. If you insist on getting this one, you may get a better price at a chain drugstore or Walmart.

Excellent Heat Retention
This compact Thermos is excellent for how HOT it keeps the coffee, and what is also incredible is that it is Light & Compact, it fits perfectly in my backpack. Before I ordered the Thermos, I read some of the reviews and have to agree with 99% of them on the Lightness, Compact, and most important of all How Well it Maintains the Temperature of the Liquid. A great Bargain for what it costs.
