The Government Models:Development of the Colt Model of 1911
Mr.Goddard's book is a fine one and was the best on the market until Mr. Clawson's book on the same subject was published. A complete arms library should contain both publications, but I personally feel Mr. Clawson's is a pace or two better.
Colt .45 collector
A lot of good quality pictures. All G'ment types presented adequately and clearly. Also colour pictures. Large customer list acc. to manuf. numbers. Book quality excellent. Thank you.
Great resource for most of us old dogs
As a shooter far more than a collector, I was looking for a one stop guide to the history, variations, and serial number reference for the 1911's that I have come to love over the last 25 years. Far from being a serious collector, I have owned several over the years, used them in IPSC and IDPA, and even to take white tail. I am always on the lookout for nice old Colts when I see them. This book has given me all I needed to be a little better educated on age, relative value, and authenticity. Now if I could just get it to fit in my back pocket...
