Works better off the bottle
I used this primarily when I went on a trip to Europe. I needed a small tripod to take photos indoors.

Even a filled waterbottle is a little too wobby to get steady. I just ditched the bottle and set the little tripod down on something like a table or bench. The ablility to steady and angle the camera allowed to successfully shoot photos in churches and other buildings. (Usually the shutter speed was 1/2 or 1/4)
