The "furoshiki shiki" (furoshiki style) is made out of one sheet of semi-transparent vinyl "film." This sheet is turned into a bag by folding it and making use of the adhesive qualities of the material. It is a practical material: easy to clean and when washed with soap the material regains its adhesive qualities. Case-style Size 5.5" x 3.5" Ideal for keys, glasses, money or other small items The transparency of the material allows you to play with color combinations, resulting in different degrees of transparency. The bag can easily transform into its original sheet-shape changing its function. For instance, it can be used as a sheet to sit on (during hanabi/hanami), or its contents can be laid out on the sheet.

The best and slimmest wallet I have ever had the shame of not stuffing.
What the other reviewer did not realize is that you fold the plastic to make the wallet. The plastic adheres to itself w/ static or some sort of adhesive property that allows you to make a million adjustments w/o loosing the adhesive quality. When you fold the wallet (as is clearly described in the packaging) it is the perfect size for credit cards, money, and other small items. Despite the seemingly insecure "plastic stiking to plastic" closure method, I have never had it come open except for when I open in in over 2 years. Because it is just a thin layer of plastic, it is extremely thin and therefore perfect for the front pocket. Not only is it slim, you can adjust the size to fit a fatter wad or, like mine, a more modest wad. My only knock on it is that the plastic slowly cracks where you fold it over time (~2 years). That being said, I loved this thing so much I bought a second when the first was too worn. This thing is a miracle. I give it my unequivocal recommendation. Enjoy.

Not a wallet
I really wanted to get a Furoshiki-shiki Wallet and was thrilled to see it on Amazon. What I received was something large enough to put a paperback book in. The picture an description are very deceptive. This is not a wallet but something larger than an eyeglass case. I was dumb enough to open the packaging thus losing my opportunity to return.

If you are expect a man's wallet, don't buy this. If you want a piece of plastic in the shape of a cross, this is for you. I have no idea what this could be used for.
