	Apple MacBook MB466LL/A 13.3-Inch Laptop Basic Macbooks are dependable, and you even get some bells and whistles with them.
	Apple iMac MB418LL/A 24-Inch Desktop Buy used from: $1,149.00 I started with an iMac. No regrets.
	Apple MacBook MB881LL/A 13.3-Inch Laptop Buy used from: $750.00 I have 112 gigs of storage; you'll get more on the newer Macs. A word of warning: Macs are "intuitive" and simple to use, but the manuals don't always cut to the chase. OK, it's simple to use, but what simple thing do I do to use this thing? That's the question the manuals don't always answer. But I do like the computer. I might add a bigger screen, maybe two feet wide and 18 inches tall someday.
	Apple MacBook MB403LL/A 13.3-inch Laptop (2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, 2 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive) White Buy used from: $799.00 Mine is a little like this one. I paid over $2,000 to get it and set it up with software. Looks like it's a lot cheaper now. This one has fifty more gigs of storage than mine, though. The duo Processor is good. I'm running an older OSX (operating system). It's Version 10.4.11, and I think it's called "Tiger." There've been a couple upgrades since I got mine.

Super Fast GX Computer, Gigantic 750GB Hard Drive, 4GB RAM, DVD Burner (DVD-RW), and New Licensed Windows XP with Genuine Microsoft Authorized CD Buy used from: $2,000.00 I think I paid double this price for our Dell 2400 a few years ago. Ours has 20 gigs of storage. It still runs fine, but I want to get a new one, and this price is incredible. You get 750 gigs of storage and Windows XP 2 instead of "Vista" software. I've heard "Vista" has had some problems, but maybe the bugs have been worked out by now.
	Dell Inspiron Mini IM10-2864 10.1-Inch Red Netbook Buy used from: $350.00 Dell laptops are sturdy and dependable, in my experience. My wife works with one from school.
	Dell Inspiron Mini IM10-2863 10.1-Inch Obsidian Black Netbook Buy new: $459.99 / Used from: $317.00 Same as the Mini IM10-2864, I think. I'm not sure about the price difference. Specs must be different too.

But you need to add software to make it useful, of course. Microsoft Office, probably. Maybe Photoshop. Some software comes with it. Check to see what you can do with the basic package before you buy.
	Lexmark X7675 All-in-One Printer Buy new: $119.99 / Used from: $93.99 We have two Lexmark printers. Neither one is as fancy as these, but they're real workhorses. The "all-in-one" concept is excellent.
	Lexmark X4650 Wireless All-In-One Printer (2057321) Buy new: $69.49 Another one. I think I got my first Lexmark on clearance. I think it's a discontinued model, the 5200. The 5200 software doesn't translate well to Macs. I think maybe that's why it's discontinued. The newer ones probably work fine.
	Lexmark #32/#33 Twin Pack ink Cartridges (18C0532) Buy new: $42.67 / Used from: $29.95 This is a very good price for cartridges. I buy mine at Kmart. "I buy all my underwear at Kmart" too. (Just kidding... a quote from Rainman; couldn't resist.) I think I'll have to look at the used cartridges. Never bought one yet. Lexmark lets you recycle these very conveniently. You put the empty cartridge in a little envelope and drop it in the mailbox.
