Let's see, some people consider anything with a mature rating to be hardcore, I don't necessarily agree; however this game and many of the games in this list do happen to have a mature rating. Also, this is either one of the best third party developer's game you can get on Wii.

So let's see this HC game has difficulty(Check), it takes more than adequate time to solve (Check), and require an elevated level of play perfection to achieve everything in the game that is possible to achieve (check); yep, HC enough.

Buy new: $46.99 / Used from: $25.49 Anyone who has ever finished a zelda game from the first one on the nes to now will tell you Zelda games are hardcore. Twilight Princess and Legend of Zelda Wind Waker are less difficult than previous Zelda games, but still have enough going for them to immerse the player in a world that takes HC dedication to solve.

Buy new: $77.98 / Used from: $14.49 Metroid. Metroid games have also always been HC; in reverese to the Zelda games, in many ways the Metroid games starting with the Metroid Prime series have become even more HC. As, I write this, Metroid Prime 3 is the best Wii game that hasn't sold 1 million copies yet.

Buy new: $45.77 / Used from: $28.30 I beat Super Mario World 64 with all 120 stars. Doing the same for SMG (not sure how many there are)will be HC too. SMG is mostly pretty easy (bosses & stages easier than SMW); there are still difficult spots in the game; putting time in , playing game to perfection & collecting everything is enough that anyone who thinks (s)he is a HC gamer should get it & do so.

Buy new: $28.99 / Used from: $10.99 A 2D hardcore shooter similar of those sometimes seemingly impossible to solve games like Konami's Life Force. And although not as difficult, with 60 levels online leader boards, multiplayer (Co-op and verses, and endless amounts of enemy chaos; plug in your classic controller, this game qualifies as HC.

Buy new: $101.94 / Used from: $37.94 This game gets great reveiws by most, but check out this quote from gamespot "With a terrible plot and an unforgiving difficulty level, Radiant Dawn is best left alone by anyone but the most hardcore of strategists". That's the thing with HardCore games, by definition most of them will not be for everyone.

Buy new: $15.82 / Used from: $5.99 Ok, I'll go out on a limb with this one, anyone who has ever spent hours playing marble madness and being infuriated with the difficulty, but not giving up will tell you it is HC. SMBBB is a very challenging solo game that only HC will be able to beat. In addition, totally un HC the mini games are ok; some people love em' (I personally enjoyed the mini games of the SMB gamecube games much more).
