Customer Reviews
If you're a freemason, this book is for you...
For a factual history of freemasonry, written by a true historian and freemason, this book is probably the most complete and factual. And it was written more than one hundred years ago.
While author Robert Gould, a 33rd degree Scottish Rite Mason, relies on proven historical method in trying to determine the origins of Free and Accepted masonry (unlike almost every other author of masonic history), he does examine all of the most common theories.
Beware, however, that this book was written in the day when writing was an educated art, and have your Complete Oxford English Dictionary close at hand.
