Product Description

The e609 Silver is based on the legendary MD 409 microphone. Able to withstand high SPLs without distorting, the e609 Silver's flat-profile capsule facilitates extremely close miking of guitar cabinets and is also suitable for drum miking, particularly toms. The e609 Silver's super-cardioid design improves isolation in live sound reinforcement and recording applications while its increased output and wider frequency response improves performance. Its sound inlet basket, made of refined steel, is distinguished by a unique silver address side.

From the Manufacturer
The e 609 has an excellent transient response. Its laterally mounted capsule has been specially developed for miking guitar cabs face on and extremely close to the signal source. The e 609 is also suitable for drum miking, particularly toms, where the microphone's profile allows the capsule to be positioned close to the drum skin.

Quality Sound4
Great instrument mic. for guitar, banjo, dobro or mandolin. good feedback rejection and good at isolating the instrument. Only drawback it mic. clip does not hold the mic well and I had to improvise to keep the mic. stable on the mic. stand. A replacement clip solves this issue.

Sennheiser E609 works great5
I have used it in live performances and it works as good or better that a SM-57.
I'll be recording this week and make a direct comparison, but as many people as i see using this mic i am SURE is will be very good.

Sennheiser e6095
I bought one used for $85. It's great. Placement and EQ aren't as critical as with my SM57 and the sound is smoother. Almost can't get a bad sound. Highly recommended.
