Customer Reviews

Highly recommended5
This is truly a "whisper quiet" heater that is great for the period just before the winter and probably during early spring. It works very well, and increases the room temperature quickly enough. It is not meant to be the main heater but it is great as a secondary and fast heating device. Highly recommended.

Don't buy this heater1
I had about the same experience as a previous poster. I received the heater, opened the box and the heater was filthy. It was covered with dirt and fingerprints and looked like it was used for a year. But since I paid so much for shipping I decided to at least give it a try and was very disappointed. It say's you can adjust the temperature to whatever temp you want (up to 85 degrees). I bought it to put under my desk at work because it is so cold in my office. I get cold very easily and I sit right under the office air conditioner, so I set it to the highest temp, 85. It wouldn't go past 72 degrees which is the temperature of the office and the fan just shut off. When I tried adjusting it again, nothing happened. I couldn't adjust the temp up or down, or even shut it off completely (the manual say's you can shut it off by holding the mode button for 2 seconds). The only way to change the temp was to unplug it for 10 minutes. I am sending this back today.

Quiet, Great Service5
I own 2 of these now. I bought the first one 2 years ago from Sears. It stopped working a few months ago. Since I really liked the heater - it worked well and was quiet - I replaced it with another one from amazon.

A few weeks ago, while rummaging for something else I found the old receipt and warranty booklet for the first one. I discovered that it has a 5 year limited warranty on it. So I called the number on the pamphlet. The customer service woman asked me to fax her the receipt. Within less than 2 weeks a replacement arrived. Don't you just love that?

OK, the new heater is covered in dust but has no sign of prior use. I shone a torch into the interiors to assess this.

It is quiet and does a good job of heating rooms (up to 12' x 14', easy), which is what it is meant for. Room, meaning contained or closed areas. It is not meant to heat your whole house or heat a smaller area within a larger open area. You should use a radiant heater for the latter. I wish this heater wouldn't default to 55 degrees every time you switch it on. Why would someone buy a heater if they wanted to be that cold? Ideally it should default to somewhere in the comfort zone 65 - 75 and then go up or down from there. Other than that, no complains.
