Amazon.com Product Description
Conveniently store food scraps in this odor-eliminating container before transferring them to an outside composter. The unit works great for egg shells, peelings, coffee grounds, and more, while its stainless-steel handle ensures simple transport. In addition, the unit's tight-fitting lid holds a charcoal filter for odor-free use for up to six months, plus offers a center knob for easy lid removal. The container fits under the sink, but with its durable stainless-steel construction and beautiful satin finish, it's attractive enough to leave out on the countertop. The surface cleans quickly with a soapy sponge, and one set of replacement filters comes included. The container measures 7 by 7 by 11 inches.

Just what I needed!5
Although this appears to be nothing more than an expensive stainless steel bucket, it is perfect for my kitchen scrap storage. The filter really does keep the odor from my kitchen. I find it can hold about a week's worth of scraps (unless I get crazy cooking). The wide mouth allows me to put the vegie peels or coffee grounds in without touching anything inside or spilling it all over the counter. It's easy to empty, and easy to clean. It looks nice on my countertop, unlike the plastic pail I had previously. I have had this for about 6 weeks now, and the filter appears to be working just fine. I will have to find out about replacements.

So many good qualities, but one terrible flaw1
Initially, I loved this composter- the lid fits tightly and is easy to open with one hand. It looks OK on the counter. It is light and well designed for carrying. BUT the holes in the lid are large and it quickly became a fruit fly magnet. It was such a disappointment. I am going to go back to using a cylindrical truly airtight container.

This unit is well build, and things actually fit together quite nicely. Some cheaper unit requires you to push or pull the top to get a tight seal. It is attractive looking, and the stainless steel material also means that you don't have to worry about dropping it (except the mess) and you can also take a soft steel wool and scrape the hell out of if you need to.

P.S I have yet to try this myself, but I know there are special corn-based lining for compost piles - this may make clean up easier.
