Battery is a bummer1
I got two with my drill two years ago. First one lasted three months, second one 1.5 years with VERY LIGHT useage. Black & Decker I had lasted 5 years with heavy use. I don't know if it's the Makita charger or the batteries. I would not buy this product again. The drill is fabulous. The batteries are not.

Batteries are terrible1
I agree with a previous reviewer who stated that the Makita Drill is great but the batteries are not. I also purchased a Drill (with two batteries) around two years ago. One battery stopped charging after a few months. The other was OK for around a year. I took the broken battery to my local Makita tool center (they replaced it under warranty). While I was there, the guy said they had MANY returns of this particular battery. Well, now my 'replaced' one AND the one that had been working are BOTH not charging. I think Makita botched the job of designing this 'home use' battery. Frankly, I am very disappointed that they (apparently) still haven't fixed the problem.

Piece of junk1
Like others have said, two batteries came with the drill and one no longer charges after just two weeks of use.
The other one is doing OK but for how long? Love the drill. Battery is a piece of junk. And it is made in Japan, not China. A real surprise for such a good company.
