Customer Reviews
A little disappointed
The good:
The attachment comes with shoulder strap and "better" handle.
It only takes seconds to swap out and back in.
The bad:
The extra weight makes the unit vibrate significantly more, which quickly becomes tiresome.
It doesn't seem to be that effective - I was expecting thick brush to be "vaporized", but the blade seems a bit dull, and the amount of effort required was surprising.
As another review states - this item has limited use - weeds/shrubs around 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick, too thick for a trimmer but not thick enough to need a chainsaw/pruner attachment.
Also, seems to get tangled up easier than the trimmer, but that might just be my inexperience using it...
Overall then, not bad, just not quite the "obliterator" I was expecting.
As usual, Amazon's delivery exceeded my expectations and their prices really cannot be bettered,
Terrifying to Use, but it Works
My wife calls this tool "the decapitator". It terrifies her to see me using it on our overgrown brush. You definitely need to wear protective goggles, and keep the spinning blade away from your feet and shins. Otherwise, it works well at cutting away overgrown brush and young saplings. It's not suited for anything bigger than 1/4" diameter.
Works well for the price
Works well for cutting smaller brush and saplings. I use mine to cut back privet and maple sprouts. On some of the thicker stuff you will need to use full throttle. There is more vibration than a normal string trimmer, but it's not too bad. Regarding safety, it's very important to make sure you don't let it get near your feet, it could easily take off some toes.
