Product Description

Safety 1st Intera 4-in-1 Convertible Car Seat The Safety 1st Intera 4-in-1 Convertible Car Seat will take a child home from the hospital, take them to their first day of school and even to their wedding! OK, maybe not their wedding, but this convertible car seat certainly spans several years. With most car seat laws requiring a child to stay in a car seat until 8 years old or about 100 lbs., getting value out of a baby car seat is very important. This Safety 1st car seat works rear facing from 5 lbs. and to 100 lbs. as a booster. The standout feature of the Safety 1st Intera 4-in-1 Convertible Car Seat is its range. There are very few versions of car seat which double as both a belt positioning and backless booster. Simply pull the metal rod out of the base and lift the car seat up. The booster is essentially the base of the Safety 1st car seat. It is a convertible car seat which is also lightweight as it weighs in at just 20 lbs with the base weighing just 8 lbs. Kids love familiar items at an early age, such as a doll or blanket. This car seat from Safety 1st will be very familiar as it will be the first and last car seat the child ever rides in. It may not last till marriage, but it's nice to know that if it had to it could.

Very Versatile Carseat5
I am totally satisfied with this carseat. It was a bit tricky getting it installed in the car (I recommend reading the instructions, and having an extra set of hands to help you install it) but all carseats can be a bit tricky.

My 7 month old son loves this carseat because it sits higher up than his first seat and he can see outside (this makes our road trips MUCH more pleasant).

There are lots of places for you to adjust the straps, buckle, and headrest so you can really make the seat fit your baby. I am not sure how well it would work for a newborn because it doesn't recline as far as carseats that are only rear-facing, and it might make it harder for your little one to take naps and keep his head in a comfortable position. (Plus, it is SO nice to have a carseat with a detachable base for a brand new baby so you don't have to wake them up when they are sleeping). But if you only want one carseat, I am sure a neck support pillow in the carseat would work great for newborns.

My favorite feature of this carseat is that I won't have to keep buying more carseats (and then find a place to store the old ones) until my son is old enough to ride without one!

Very Nice and STURDY!4
I really like this car seat and was looking for one that we could use for a long time. . .I think this is it. It's very big with the base, but I like the fact that it doesn't move around a lot - not flimsy at all.

However, it took me about an hour to figure it all out and get it configured for my son with the straps and everything. I will say that it can be difficult and time consuming to actually put into the vehicle because you have to shove the seat belt underneath and inside the base of the car seat with one hand, while pulling it through with the other - - a little tricky and frustrating if it gets tangled up in the middle of the base. Despite the frustrations, I totally recommend this one! I love the colors and padding of the seat - - cup holder looks useless, but I haven't installed it yet.

I loved this car seat.5
We bought the Cosco rendition of this car seat about 2 1/2 years ago, when our daughter outgrew her infant seat. At the time we drove a 2 door hatch back, and we needed something that would fit in our car rear facing.
We liked this one because it was affordable, had wide straps that were less likely to twist, had easily adjustable straps, and would fit. It transfered well into our mini-SUV, when we upgraded cars.
I liked that you could remove the base, which then created another car seat, and made it smaller, for a tighter fit. Or you could leave the base on, which lifted the seat higher so that our daughter could see out he window better.
A year ago we got in a car accident and it had to be replaced. I was quite disappointed that I couldn't find it on the market. So I replaced it with the Cosco Alpha Omega, which we like too, but not as well.
My second child is now at the point where he needs a convertible, so when I saw this one available I'm buying it.
It really is a good deal, safe, and easy to use (if you read the instructions).
