Unbelievable, but true
We have had the same card shuffler for a number of years and gave one just like it to several of our friends for gifts. One of our friend's shuffler broke so we decided to give them another one for Christmas. When this one arrived one look at it told us it was not the same quality as in the past. The middle section separating the two sides was not even in the middle. It did not work. I ordered this one because the first one I ordered from somewhere else arrived, and it did not work...so they sent a replacement...which also did not work. My husband took one apart to see the mechanism. From that he was able to fix all three. This particular one was missing a bolt and required much more fixing than the other two. We would have returned it but couldn't after taking it apart. Now that it's running, it'll be okay. But don't order unless you plan to fix it. They are just not made like they use to be. Sad, but true. This uses 4AA batteries. The older ones use 4C's and are more powerful. I'm sorry to write such a review, but you deserve to know so you can be prepared to be disappointed should you decide to order. Had we not really wanted to give one for a gift, we would have returned it.

Works great
Purchase for a group of 80+ year olds and they love the product. Customer service was fantastic when it seemed to be lost in the mail.

Works Extremely Well
This is my first shuffler, and it works exactly as described. I had a hard time getting my 12 year old to play cards with me, because she couldn't shuffle cards well. Now that we have the shuffler, she plays much more willingly! We do only use it for a few hands every few weeks. It does occassionally stand a couple of cards vertically instead of laying them flat, but it is so easy to pull them out, I didn't take it off of the rating. The only complaint that I have is that no directions came in the box. If you look at the picture on the box, it is pretty easy to figure out though.
