Worst review book I ever read
Worst history book ever. I'm 45 and studied history thought my life. The poorly organized review not only lacks study for the practice exams, but goes as far to contradict the answers. The questions are also poor in they are mostly trick questions designed , I guess, to frustrate, rather then determine a person's knowledge of US history. In fact, I say a good part of the choices are not historically correct and give to much room for interpolation rather than historical fact. This is way I'm suggesting NOT to use this book for study. There are many others that are better organized, and have better questions to test your knowledge.
Raises more questions than answers!
Bought this book to prepare for the AP US history exam, but was soarly dissapointed. I liked how its organized in a bullet note format instead of paragraph style (if your going to read paragraphs, you might as well read your text book) but found that the author pretty much just used a bullet note each time he would've indented for a new paragraph. But here's the big problem which makes this book awful: at the end of each chapter it has a list of key people and key terms; however, it never IDENTIFIES or DEFINES these and never mentions them in the text. For example, at the end of the civil rights section a key term is "Letter froma Birmingham Jail". This, of course, was a letter written by M.L.K. Jr., when he was incarcerated after a civil rights demonstration, but is never so much as mentioned in the text. Therefore, your left with a list of people and terms you don't know. What were they thinking? I also bought the Kaplan and Princeton Review books and those are FAR SUPERIOR to this. I "lowly" recommend this book.
