Product Description

This is one book you must have! As a result of the credit crisis, many financial institutions have raised their credit score requirements. Credit scores are impacting everyone from every angle. The Road to 850 provides a much greater background and understanding to the credit scoring system than any previously published book. In fact, The Road to 850 has been given the coveted endorsement of the AFCPE - American Financial Counseling, Planning and Education Association in June 2009. In its review, they write, The Road to 850 "covers in detail the vast credit industry and navigates with ease the questions that plague even qualified people." It is "highly recommended for financial and credit counselors as well as all individuals wanting to increase their scoreswhich would be everyone." The Road to 850 describes all the reason codes and how credit risk is scored. It explains the four critical ratios, the four important dates and the four levels of delinquency with detailed explanations, examples and displays. Lastly, it provides 94 proven strategies and identifies the necessary requirements for a credit score in the golden range -- 760 to 850. The Road to 850 has received many additional rave reviews from readers: What an excellent book! Easy to read. Thanks a lot for giving us the opportunity to get to 850!, My book is filled with great information, some of which I have never heard before despite an abiding interest in the subject and previous research. Id recommend it to anyone who wants to raise his score, even if its already a high one. This book is priceless. The Road to 850 has been highlighted by Kurtis Ming (KOVR / CBS in Sacramento), Nicole Crites (KPHO / CBS in Phoenix), Bill Gephardt (KUTV / CBS in Salt Lake City), Paula Ebbers (WBZ / CBS in Boston) and a host of other national television and radio reporters. Whether you have a 725 or a 525 credit score, this is one book you must have!

Customer Reviews

This book helped raise my score from 620 to 750 in 3 weeks!!!5
This book is a must for everyone, because EVERYONE needs a raise in their credit score, especially in today's economy.

I have been looking to refinance my home with a credit score average of 620 and it wasn't working out so well. I used advice and insight from this book and got my score up to a 750 average in 3 weeks! I really didn't have any money to work with either. Of course, paying off your credit lines is the best way to get your score up, but I was very surprised to learn a few new tricks to do so without even having to pay much off! The credit score system is ridiculous and if you think you know it all, you don't!

I love how well this book is organized. It makes rather difficult insights easy to understand and easy to put into action and it really doesn't take much reading to get there.

Thanks to the authors and researchers who put this together, no other book or website I could find even compares.

Good Book About Credit4
I believe this is a good book for individuals who know nothing about credit. It really didn't tell me much that I didn't already know.

It is well-written and the writer is trustworthy and knows his stuff. I would recommend it for anyone who wants to and needs to learn about credit and how to increase scores.

Quite frankly I believe it is sad that we all HAVE to have credit in order to get anything in this country anymore. I paid off and closed my credit cards and was quite proud of myself. That was the way we kept our credit good in my day, but in this day and age you have to be in debt to establish credit even to rent an apartment or buy a car. It's ironic. Whatever happened to having the money and being able to afford what you wanted to buy? When I was coming up some people were even told to close credit cards before they were approved for mortgages b/c of the potential to go into debt and thus not be able to manage the mortgage payment. Now it is the total opposite.

I still believe in cold hard cash. I always thought being liquid was the best way to go, but this book proves me wrong. My have times changed (for the worse).

I only gave the book four stars because I waited weeks before it finally showed up in my mailbox, but other than that the book itself is very good and has good information about credit and what to watch out for.

Best Credit Book ever!5
Excellent book. Very well written. I learned more from this book in one evening than I thought I ever could. Al Bingham explains the myteries of credit and credit scores in a way that is easy to undestand. I felt I was pretty savvy when it came to understanding my credit score but little did I know. Highly recommended. The best money I have spent on a book in a long time. A+
