Believe it or not, this album is pretty damn good. If you are a fan of Joan Jett ("I Love Rock n' Roll"), Pat Benatar ("Love is a Battlefield") or Belinda Carlisle ("Mad About You"), give this a try.

It was such a tragedy when this talented musician died. At least he left behind some spectacular albums. This one is the finest!

One of the first "alternative bands" which didn't sound like all the rest (well, maybe a little like a mix of Jane's Addiction in there). Anyways, it's a GREAT album, if you can find it.

The songs aren't as radio-friendly as the ones off "Closing Time," but they're still brilliant. I love the song "Tom Traubert's Blues."

Heard this guy on a local college station and he sounds great! If you're into straight-up rock and a little blues-rock, this guy is worth a listen!

I was really surprised with this one (not much into pop)! Disc 1 was good, but Disc 2 was great! This is for a true all-around music lover!

This is a great debut from A Fine Frenzy, which is really singing sensation Alison Sudol, who stirs the sounds of Norah Jones, Sarah McLachlan and Eva Cassidy all into one! This is a great album and I love the single "Almost Lover." Not just a beautiful face and voice, but just good music!

A cross between The Jim Carroll Band and Bruce Springsteen! A great album; "Stuck Between Stations" is the 21st century/new generation version of "Born to Run."

If you like/love Amy Winehouse, this woman will blow you away. This album actually sounds like a re-issue from the 1960s/1970s. But it was made this year!

Actress Zooey Deschanel and musician M. Ward team up to form She & Him, a musical act that has all the shiny sounds of a mix of classic Dusty Springfield, Shirley Simms (of The Magnetic Fields), Cat Power, and Phil Spector's the Teddy Bears with music that sounds like it's coming from the 50s/60s pop rock/girl group (and, for one song, country) era.

Just saw him open up for Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova (The Swell Season) this past weekend in Baltimore. A great musician and songwriter! Deeply moving songs with a unique voice.

Sure, there are Bob Dylan & The Band references to throw in here, but this is Americana music at its best! These guys are awesome! You won't be sorry.
