Strikingly contemporary in design, this fondue set combines a shapely, satin-finish stainless-steel pot and a glass bowl insert to serve all forms of fondue: oil, broth, cheese, and chocolate. The pot holds 2 quarts or more of oil or broth for festively cooking meat, poultry, seafood, and vegetables. The glass bowl insert has stainless-steel handles to lower it into the pot partially filled with hot water to keep 1 quart or more of cheese or chocolate fondue melted. Neither the pot nor the glass bowl are stovetop-safe so oil or broth need to be brought to a simmer in another container on the stove. When partially immersed in simmering water, the glass bowl will melt chocolate, but cheese fondue is best prepared first on the stove. Six stainless-steel fondue forks and a fork holder that fits into the pot's top are included. Gel fuel is required, but not included. The pot stands 9-3/4 inches high on an 8-1/8-inch-diameter base. A fantastic set!
This is the best set I have seen so far. The glass insert makes it easy and quick to change from oil to cheese or chocolate. Clean up couldn't be easier because everything is dishwasher safe. The review states that cheese fondue is best prepared on the stove and then poured into the glass insert, but I have melted it in the glass every time and it has always been perfect.

It's a very stylish fondue pot, but...
I bought this fondue pot a few months ago. It's very stylish and impresses our guests when we use it. However there are two things I don't like about it:

1. Because it's a fairly tall pot, sometimes we have to stand up to check on our food, or untangle our forks:)

2. Maybe it's because of the sterno cans we use, but we never get enough heat. We finally brought down and used three sterno cans at once and it worked great!

While the pot is tall, it is a nice feature if you are using oil as it protects from splatters. I do like that it comes with a lid and a bottom to protect your table. The glass insert for chocolate and cheese is nice also. Cleanup is a snap as we put everything in the dishwasher.

My two disappointments are minor. And maybe I'm just not using the right kind of heat source. Maybe I should try something else?

Fondue makes a Fabulous Gift!
We received this fondue set as a gift last year and we love it. It's great for dinner parties and a lot of fun! The best thing about it is that it can do cheese, broth and/or chocolate, most pots are one or the other. Also, the sterno canisters can be bought at your local store, probably in some sort of camping or bbq aisle.
