Amazon.com Product Description
This sporty Croton timepiece features a two-tone dial with white indexes, a magnified date display at three o'clock, and a unidirectional blue bezel for easy timekeeping. The flexible and polished stainless steel band fits securely to the wrist with its fold-over clasp with safety. Japanese automatic movement ensures precision and a water-resistant depth of 99 feet means you never have to worry when you head for the beach. An automatic watch is a mechanical watch that is self-winding. The movement of your wrist and body causes the rotor--a weight attached to an automatic winding mechanism--to wind up the watch. This automatic watch has 21 jewels, which are synthetic ruby stones that the gears turn on to protect the metal parts from grinding together. An automatic watch needs no battery, but it will stop if not worn for over a day (30+ hours) or if you have been physically inactive for an extended period of time. For the times when your automatic watch is not on your wrist, the elegantly-designed watch rotator will provide the movement needed to keep it accurate. A perfect pairing to your automatic watch, this rotator also works as a display case.

Customer Reviews

cheap product1
Sorry everyone, but this is NOT a $600 watch. I opened my package, took a look at the watch, and sent it back for a refund in a heartbeat. It's incredibly cheap-looking (the luminescent paint was messy and thick), and the mechanism is very loud. The watch face is much gaudier in person than it seems in the picture. It was supposed to be a gift, but I would be embarrassed to give it to anyone.

returned1
The automatic mechanism did not work, the crystal had enough condensation inside to occlude half the face, and the band clasp was scratched. I couldn't decide which reason best justified my return.

Chinese2
A note of interest.

Croton stainless steel automatic wrist watches in the 1950s were made to compete with the Omega Seamaster, and were a fantastic buy, building up a niche for that brand among watch lovers.

Movement type: self winding mechanical

But by the 1960s, most of Croton stainless steel wrist watches now had a 21 jewel windup movement, the movements were now manufactured in France while the case and bracelet was made in Hong Kong.

Now, sad to say, the Croton watches are all manufactured in China, with much poorer workmanship, materials, and quality then they had been known for, and Croton watches are now just surviving on the brand name, along with the falsely stated jacked up "Retail" prices.

You get what you pay for when you buy the Amazon deal. But for the last ten years or so, no way and at no time are these Croton watches worth or retail anywhere for $400 to $600. It is a good deal for less than $60 though.
