Product Description

Advice columnist Molly Forrester needs a much-needed break from her job at Zeitgeist, a Manhattan glossy. The opportunity for some R-n-R arrives when her best friends, Tricia and Cassady, invite her to the Hamptons for a weekend of hard-earned fun to celebrate Tricia's brother's engagement. But Molly's plans of sipping margaritas by the poolside and working on nothing more than her tan are sidetracked by an unscheduled event—the murder of the bride-to-be...

It isn’t long before suspicion is cast on Tricia’s brother. Was this a case of jealousy or something much deeper? Now Molly must follow a trail of sex, lies, and streaming video back to Manhattan, but her sleuthing efforts are complicated when her ex-boyfriend, NYPD homicide detective Kyle Edwards, interferes with the case—and with Molly’s heart…

Cute...light...fluffy3
This is a cute summer read . . . or a quick fix if you're looking for something fluffy. Dostoyevsky or Joyce Carol Oates, it's not.

The mystery was pretty easy to figure out and I didn't really mind all the name and label-dropping. The girls are pretty much self-absorbed, but I liked them.

The book could have been titled "Girls who remind you of Carrie, Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte do the Hamptons and solve a murder".

Chick Lit Lite.

Enjoy!

A Great follow up!4
After reading Killer Heels, I went out and bought this one. What a great follow up. Still the same witty characters, depending on each other to get through the hard times, celebrate the good times, and oh yeah, solve the murder. I love this series. It's a fast fun read, a little romance, a little murder, and a lot of friendship. We should all be so lucky in our real lives. For entertaiment value it's much better than a movie or TV. I highly recommend it to all.

fun chick lit amateur sleuth tale4
Molly Forrester has mixed feelings about her recently solving the murder of her boss (see KILLER HEELS) because she believes that should have been her meal ticket to real journalism. However, resolving the case failed to get her from under writing the Zeitgeist magazine advice column, but on the other hand besides proving her capabilities she met NYPD Detective Kyle Edwards, the hunk who saved her life. She wonders if she just suffers from hero worship as opposed to love as her brain seems to consist of one icon Kyle.

One of her best friends, event planner Trish Vincent pleads with Molly to learn who killed her brother's fiancée, wannabe actress Lisbet McCandless at their engagement party. Apparently someone smashed Lisbett's head with a champagne bottle at the Hamptons home of Trish's aunt. Feeling this will keep her mind off of obsessing over Kyle and enable her to play hard to get when he calls, Molly makes inquiries by interviewing those who attended the gala. Her efforts result in someone trying to kill her with Kyle as the only reason she remains alive.

Though difficult to accept that Trish would ask Molly to investigate an open homicide and that the reporter agreed to do so after her harrowing experience, fans will enjoy this chick lit amateur sleuth tale. The story line is a lighthearted romp as Molly gets into trouble with a Southampton police hunk, her fantasy male Kyle, and a killer. Readers who enjoy a breezy late summer read will appreciate the zany antics of Molly on Long Island.
