Perfect Boy's Toy
There is nothing about this that can be a negative. Some of the items can be a bit cheesy when you think of the material the real ones are made of, but there is one little five year old boy who puts everything on, including the safety glasses, and jumps in to help Grandpa in his workshop. The thing that makes these so neat for a kid is that they aren't poufy, fake, plastic tools. These really can be used and the child can stand right next to Grandpa (or any adult) and measure out a piece of wood, use a hammer and put his tools in his tool belt while his eyes, head and hands are protected. I don't think I've ever been so satisfied with a gift for my grandson than with this. His eyes lit up when he opened it, he put everything on and in where it should go, and he loves using everything. But hey, if you're one of those concerned Moms or Dads who pads everything in the house and freaks if your child scrapes a knee this is not for you. But . . . if you've taught your little ones the meaning of "no" and to listen to direction from their elders this would be a GREAT first tool set after the hammering of the wooden pegs into the board no longer holds the child's interest. I LOVE this set and so does a little boy!

Just Like Dad's!
This is an outstanding product. I got it for my 5 year old, and my 6 and 9 year olds love it too. These tools and accessories are the real deal, and nice quality too, but sized for little hands. I've been using the level, hammer and tape measure myself to hang some pictures around the house. The belt is much nicer than I'd expected, but the hat is more for looks, I think. Nicer than your average play construction hat, though.

I highly recommend this took kit for any child who is old enough to handle real tools responsibly.

not for little kids
these are real tools, it says NOT for children under 3, but really should say 'not for children under 8 or so' - there is a real saw, heavy tools - I could not give one item to my 3 year old son. it's a nice set for an OLDER kid, not anyone close to 3 though.
