Better for a permanent display than a toy2
This set includes lots of fun pieces but overall I am disappointed with the cheap plastic used and size and fragility of the accessories.

I received this today and noticed that the box boasts "65 pieces!". I soon realized they didn't mean 65 cows, pigs, and hay bales. They mean 65 pieces of cheap, made in China plastic to break off a bracket and assemble. The animals are very small, but the cowboys are so tiny that my 5 year old gets frustrated trying to stand them up without knocking over something else she's set up in barnyard. The people are literally the size of a Tylenol caplet.

The instructions say to "complete" the look, you can buy model glue and paint and set this up as a permanent display. That's obviously what it was designed to be, not a toy.

I like that they included things like a plow and wheelbarrow. (Although the wheelbarrow is maybe the size of an M&M). I like that the front barn doors slide, although they are fragile. The removable roof is pretty cool, but again everything is so tiny there is no way a kid could set up the animals in there without feeling clumsy and getting frustrated.

I am going to pack this up and give it to my nephew who is 9. I will be ordering the Melissa and Doug fold and go barn next time. Too bad, with the 5 star review and the reasonable price tag, I really wanted this one to be a good deal!

Does what I need it to I guess3
Well I basically wanted just a barn structure so that my son could put all of his little plastic animals in it. I took all of the extra pieces and put them away for now since there are a ton of unbelievably tiny pieces. The barn door falls off every time he tries to open or close it. I like that the roof just lifts off so he can see what is inside. There is no bottom to the barn and the sides are made up of smaller flat pieces that click together and slide up and down even once clicked together. Not the sturdiest toy, but he still plays with it at the table. I just wouldnt recommend it for someone who wants it to be able to move all over while playing with it. I have to keep it in one spot on the table and he gently puts the animals in and out.

Lots of barnyard fun5
My granddaughter loves playing with this. She can set it up different ways and combine with other sets and animals. Great fun.
