Not like the Picture
I bought this knowing what green amethyst usually looked like which is not what this picture shows. I received my set and it was a lovely clear green (a few steps clearer than peridot and less yellow). The pendent was pretty large, actually larger then I usually wear, but I got a lot of complements. The only down side for me is that I had problems getting the earrings on. The metal starts curving in front when I hit the back of my ear.

This green amethyst set is gorgeous. The stones are a lot lighter in color than they are pictured. The actual color is a very pale, icy, green- almost like clear with a hint of green in it. I too was familiar with what green amethyst looks like and the color is exactly what it should be for that but it does not look like the picture. Do yourself a favor and look up green amethyst in a computer search and see what the stone looks like before buying. The stones were amazingly huge and the settings are very nice as well. Rhodium plating on sterling is hard to find but it prevents tarnish.
I got this for a gift but am so tempted to keep it! I rarely rate anything 5 stars but this set is gorgeous, and a wonderful value for the price...

Well, the color of my stones is a clear mint color.

I was really surprised when I opened the bag because they are so large. Like, almost garish.

I have ordered a couple of natural stones from amazon lately and frankly they all look fake, like colored glass. These stones sort of seem fake too. Purchasing amethyst, I expect a certain amount of inclusions and imperfections, but these stones, like the other pieces, are suspiciously clear and perfect. Even the color just seems off. Too minty green.

With that said, I have to assume that these are real, so I gave them four stars. I think that they would work better if the stones were smaller. The earrings don't hang right because they are so big, and the pendant flips around a quite a bit. Get them on sale. On sale , I give them four stars.
