| Composer and Elfman team-mate Shirley Walker died from a brain aneurysm Wednesday November 29 in Los Angeles, California. She was 61. Elfman fans will recognize the name from Danny Elfman soundtracks, many of which she played a part in conducting and helping with additional orchestrations. She also composed Batman: The Animated Series (1992), which used Danny's theme for the opening. Many agree that she is the one composer who composed an original Batman movie score as satisfying as Elfman's, with 1993's Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. The score was all original music and themes by Shirley Walker, including a trememdous gothic opening sequence. Walker won a Daytime Emmy for her work on for 1999's Batman Beyond. | ||
