Beats a closed case backup drive!
This product allows you to use several hard drives as backups, and has a variety of connection options including eSATA, Firewire, as well as USB2. Thus, it more versatile than any free standing closed box external backup I've seen. It's closest competitor is a snarl of separate wires and a pain to use! This product is also useful for large volume transfers to un-networked machines, or as a hard drive dock. It's just the best bang for the buck!
