Product Description
As an all-phosphate baking powder, Rumford Baking Powder does not contain any aluminum. This property makes it somewhat faster acting than typical double-acting baking powders. You'll still see a boost of leavening in the oven, but most of the reaction occurs in the mixing bowl. While this makes a more delicate crumb structure in the finished product, do not dawdle. You've got to work quickly for best results. Not genetically modified. Store in dry, cool place.

Rumford Baking Powder
I ordered this product because I wanted baking powder without the Aluminum Sulfate. I tested it out in some banana nut bread and it came out great. I'm not sure why some companies put the Aluminum Sulfate in there, but I don't think it has anything to do with that rising action! It has several other perks as well. It is made in the USA in a peanut-free factory and has only three ingredients. It contains Monocalcium Phosphate, Bicarbonate of Soda, and Cornstarch (from nongenetically modified corn).
