Product Description

Sell your home no matter what the market is like!

If you are like most people, your home is the biggest financial asset you have. When it's time for you to sell it, though—especially in a slow market—you need to be careful to avoid the six biggest mistakes that people make when putting their homes on the market. Otherwise, you might not be able to find a buyer.

Loren Keim, a top real estate professional with over twenty years of experience, explains these six mistakes and challenges in detail and teaches you how to avoid making them. These six key things to overcome when you sell your home are:

  • Poor Staging—Do you know what potential buyers really think about your home?
  • Incorrect Pricing—Are you overpriced compared to other houses for sale in your area?
  • Improper Marketing—Are you doing enough to find potential buyers?
  • Location-Challenged Properties—Do you own a home near an airport, train tracks, or on a busy street?
  • Functional Obsolesence—Do you know how to fix the problems in your house that are keeping buyers away?
  • No One Is Buying in Your Area—Is your home going to be the one in your area that buyers will fall in love with and have to buy?

With helpful tips and websites listed throughout the text, this easy-to-read book will help you accomplish the seemingly overwhelming task of selling your home and getting top dollar.

Don't worry about the real estate market being slow, this book has all the answers. According to the author, ANY home can be sold in any market if it's positioned correctly in the marketplace. Positioning means making the home show better than the competition, strategically pricing the property, using advanced marketing techniques, and understanding showing and negotiating strategies.

If all else fails, the author has a section on desperation measures which includes a full outline of how to work on a short sale with your bank, a lease purchase, auction, rent with option and many other ideas.

Full of real world stories, examples and checklists. If you're trying to sell a home in today's market, this is THE must read book --Real Estate Investment Digest, January 2009.

The book is clearly written and Keim draws on more than two decades of experience in the real estate business for advice and anecdotes. It has chapters on pricing, marketing, hiring a Realtor (or selling by owner), having showings, negotiating offers and going to settlement.

The initial chapters of the 287 page book cover a practice caled staging, which is a home makeover that is designed to help buyers imagine living in a home that's for sale.

Keim includes checklists for each room and includes strategies for setting the home apart from the competition. --Eloise DeHaan, The Morning Call, October 26, 2008

I loved this book!5
"How to Sell Your Home in Any Market" is really a great read. It's both entertaining and chock full of great information. The author outlines the reasons some homes sell and others don't. Then he goes through techniques for staging a home, how to price a home the right way and why some agents aren't completely honest in their pricing. He explains lots of different marketing ideas, websites, and advertising methods and then he starts talking about "desperation methods". He also has a start to finish outline of the selling process, and explains some differences when selling a home on your own or using a Realtor.

But what really set this book apart was all the real life stories. For every section, he has a couple stories explaining how each technique was used and what made it work. Really terrific! I rate this 5 stars! How to Sell Your Home in Any Market: 6 Reasons Why Your Home Isn't Selling... and What You Can Do to Fix Them

GREAT Real World Stories!5
The stories in this book are priceless!

There are quite a few books on the market about selling homes and how to get them sold in a slow market or a declining market. This book is the best.

It delivers a powerful package of preparing the home for sale, which doesn't just mean staging techniques. It means preparing the home's "look and feel", as well as preparing the proper marketing pieces and attaching the correct marketing channels. There is a lot of information about price positioning that I have not seen in any other book, and a lot of great marketing ideas.

The book doesn't just end there, however, like most of these books - it takes you step by step through the process and outlines how to avoid the landmines that come up through the buyer's mortgage process, the home inspection process and even has a mini-guide on how to deal with your own lender if you have the challenge of owing more than the home is worth.

The book does a beautiful job outlining all the sales methods and why certain ones work better than others.

Just an outstanding book. Congratulations!
