This is a story I've re-read too many times to count, and I never want it to end. Whitney, My Love is also a good story of another Westmoreland, although it is not set in medieval times.

Johansen knows how to write wonderful dialogue, as demonstrated by her merchant knight who definitely knows how to barter!

I really like the early S.J. novels: My Cherished Enemy, My Rebellious Heart, and The Truest Heart are my other recommendations by her.

A story that I find touching; in a manner similar to McNaught's Kingdom of Dreams, I just don't want this one to end.

I'm not a big fan of Penelope Williamson in general, but this story is magical and earned a place on my keeper shelf. I've re-read it many times.

Sara Bennett is a fairly new addition to the keeper shelf, but she got me hooked with this debut. The Rose and the Shield, and Once He Loves are also part of the trilogy and very good.

This time-travel is set primarily in medieval Scotland, and I found it an enchanting debut. I'll read Ms. Moning's other novels, but none have been able to quite meet the standard set by this one.

The first of Julianna Garnett's many novels, and also my favorite of hers.

This is the first O'Donnell book I read, and the only one that I've re-read.

Early Teresa Medeiros and much darker than her later work.

This book is not really classified as medieval, but Ms. Martin (aka Sabrina Jefferies/Justine Davis/Justine Dare) has crafted such a superb and unique story that I must recommend it here!
