Amazon.com Review
Maximize patio space while creating seating or a railing by installing deck bench brackets from 2x4basics. Using only 7 inches of deck space, users affix the brackets to a patio edge to expand their outdoor living space. Spacing the brackets 24 inches apart and adding lumber, ensures these brackets sturdily attach benches

Constructed in a special plastic stronger than steel, the brackets stand up to all degrees of weather while handling standard household regulation weight capacities. The comfortable angle and adaptable design enable users to suit their own needs, whether with a new or old deck or even a boat dock. The brackets work with most types of lumber for greater flexibility. Only basic tools are required for assembly and all hardware is included. For seating, 2x4basics recommends leaving 4 to 12 inches of space from the bracket to the bench end. 2x4basics does not recommend painting the brackets. A ten-year warranty is available for defective parts or craftsmanship for this product. The assembled bracket stands 36 inches high, while the bench seat sits at 17 inches above the deck. Upon shipping, this product measures 18.75 by 22.88 by 2.32 inches, and weighs 6 pounds. --Jessica Reuling

Sturdier than I thought. 5
I was a bit apprehensive about buying these brackets and thought that the method of anchoring them to the deck would result in a bench that would flex when I pushed back on it. I was wrong and the bench is much sturdier than I thought it would be.

I did end up putting two more screws in per bracket on the bottom near the front.

Overall these created a good looking, easy to install bench. I highly recommend them. They are cheaper than buying redwood to build your own bench brackets.

Fast, but a bit flimsy2
I had about an 8' straight run to put a bench in, so used four brackets. Is was fairly quick (about 2-2.5 hours, I have a power miter saw), and instructions were clear. Once installed, there was too much "wobble" in the bench - front-to-back, not side-to-side. Luckily, I had posts on the end I could brace it to, so the end result is fine, if you don't have something to brace the ends to, I'd think twice. Lastly, the bench itself is not that comfortable (I find the seat too shallow). Also, the hardware is not the highest quality, and I anticipate it will rust rather quickly (I used stainless steel deck screws to fasten the back and lower front rails). Lastly, pay extra close attention to the washers you use - very similar OD, with a different ID made me redo about 5 screws (my fault, I know). I am and advanced DIYer (I built the 450 sqft three level deck the bench was for).

Great product5
This is a fantastic product.
They save you time and the fact that the brackets do not take up hardly any deck space is great.
Highly recommended.
