Product Description

The essence of "Easy Elegance" is a relaxed, comfortable and stylish home. In "Easy Elegance", Atlanta Bartlett offers a liveable, practical and elegant alternative to the fastchanging parade of interior trends and glossy show homes. The four fundamentals of "Easy Elegance" are comfort, simplicity, function and individuality. Once these elements are in place, Atlanta maps out the five different facets of the look to help you pinpoint the style that suits you best. Choose from the clean lines of Modern Elegance, the cosy comfort of Country Elegance, the quirky appeal of Retro Elegance, the soft sensuality of Feminine Elegance, or the vintage charm of Faded Elegance. Finally Atlanta take you through every room in the house, demonstrating how to put the look into practice. The result is a warm and welcoming home that suits the way we want to live now.

Possibly the Best Design Book I've Read5
I bought this book on a whim and it was even better than it seemed at first glance. The cover shot is an eclectic bohemian glam style, but the 'easy elegance' concept applies to multiple styles including modern, country and retro. Bartlett walks you through the concept of 'easy elegance' by reviewing it's four tenets: comfort, simplicity, function and individuality. Then it explains how to establish this in each room of the house.

You'd be surprised what a relief the 'easy elegance' vibe is. It's all about making a functional home full of what you love. It is not about details, paint colors and finishing touches. Bartlett is all about establishing the right vibe in your home, injecting yourself through your choice of furnishings.

It is just the book I've been looking for.

Easy Elegance4
Very beautiful book - I recommend it to anyone that loves beautiful interiors. This book would be a great gift. Lovely pictures and well written.

Lots on "Easy" - Little on "Elegance"2
This book didn't compliment my own personal style or decorating approach. I can see where the decorating ideas were easy but I didn't think there was much "elegance." For example, page 74 shows a sofa with a shredded seat cover and faded paint. The author comments this "only add to its allure, giving it character and interest." I can handle the faded paint and possibly faded upholstery but anytime fabric is shredded (a severe tear in this case), I don't see the allure or character and I lost complete interest.

This is more for the person who seeks very easy, simple and relaxed style for their home and not particular in mixing and "not" matching color, style and design. However, great photography in this book.
