About the Artist
Manuel Mendoza (Dondehood) was born October 16, 1981, in Colima, a small city 100 kilometers from the Mexican Pacific Coast. From the beginning he liked to draw lines and figures, but his interest in performing took serious form at age 16. Hes a member artist with local graffitti groups VRS, ADK, and Grafios Team, with whom he has won several local contests, and he has earned first places nationally, winning respect as a caligrapher and muralist in Mexico. It was during this time that he felt the need to express the character of street life in his neighborhood. At 21 he began to make home demos and offered a 100% home made recording of his own making: Dondehood, El ladrón de los ladrones (Dondehood, Thief Among Thieves). Public presentations with local bands Madafakas and XXXL, projects such as Poesía y Música Alternativa (Poetry and Alternative Music), a few beers and the remains of aerosol spray in his headthese have earned him status as captain of the battle arena; his sanctuary: the stage.The rock band Delasónica, vocalist Martha Selene Barrera, Executive Producer Andrés Villa, and DAC Center partner Eduardo Figueroa, also took part in the production. Featuring MCs Baseik, Yanke and Asko.

Latin Hip Hop?
Until you listen to this CD you won't understand how great the music accompanyment is. If you don't speak Spanish, you'll still enjoy it.
I listen to some of the words but the total effect is what I find mesmerizing, so I like to have it playing in the background while I work. After reading the artist's story, I'd say this talented individual from humble beginnings has produced a great Latin Hip Hop CD. I recommend it.
