Average customer review:Product Description
This dramatic excursion into the realm of the soul illuminates how we are driven to destructive behavior by ignoring our inner needs. Join Dr. Est's as she tells the story of The Red Shoes, and analyzes how cultural pressure and inner hunger lead to the addiction/self-destruction cycle. Healing, she says, comes from a life ?made by hand, ? that is a unique extension of the instinctual self. A treasury of counsel from the author of The NewYork Times #1 bestseller Women Who Run with the Wolves.

Customer Reviews
Excellent
Clarissa Pinkola Estes has a remarkable ability to teach through storytelling. She weaves a story that is vivid, beautiful, and powerful. Her insights that are shared through her interpretation of the classic story of the Red Shoes were very helpful to me in understanding more about the nature of addiction. The tape helped me to envision a way out of the spiral of addiction and I found it very comforting and helpful.
A self -crafted life
This is is an amazing story that illustrated the importance in understanding the need for self-crafting one's own life. Sometimes, if we are not careful the wish for an easier life can take us to places we later regret. This story and analysis held the interest of my 16-year old son and at the end its all he wanted to talk about for hours afterwards.
AWESOME!
Clarissa Pinkola Estes is wonderful and I love this cd more than any of her other work. I also love Warming the Stone Child.
