Cristina is the daughter of Mariano, a widower, whose new fiancée doesn’t like children. "Nana Tomasina", an old woman who lives close by, takes the lonely girl under her wing. Cristina also befriends Rosario, a novice at the school, believing her to be the ideal mate for her father.
