Mariana Villareal, a poor girl who experienced a life of hardship, marries wealthy businessman Luis Alberto Salvatierra, who gives her the life of comfort and leisure that once seemed so unattainable. Shortly after their honeymoon, a family friend stops by for a visit and Mariana suddenly faints into his arms.
