Baggu ("bag" in Japanese) is machine washable, and folds up into it's own pouch small enough to tuck into your handbag or pocket. Made of super-tough ripstop nylon in bright, fun colors, it's the re-usable bag that's eco-chic.

Why Baggus are so great? You want to replace your old friends, the paper & plastic bags, with something that does their job without creating needless waste or harming the environment. Using one Baggu for one year replaces 300 to 700 disposable bags. One Baggu holds the contents of 2 to 3 plastic grocery bags. Six bags can hold a whole cart full of groceries. Five pack with storage bag- item description is unclear.
I want to write this review to help people trying to make a decision between the various Baggu offerings on Amazon. If you need info on the bags themselves, try looking at the multitude of comments on the BAGGU Reusable Shopping Tote - 6-Pack. (You'll find that people are very happy with them.)

This particular item is a special FIVE-pack of the bags in "neutral" colors with a black storage bag included. (The item description, at this point, is unclear, and I think the picture is as well.)

You usually have to buy baggu bags in groups of six for the best value, both here and on Baggubag dot com. Six bags and a storage bag would have cost me twelve dollars more at the product website. Because each baggu holds 2x or more what a disposable plastic shopping bag does, this group of five is sufficient for almost all of my shopping trips. I appreciate being able to buy this slightly smaller set with the included storage bag to keep them tidy in my car or purse.

There are a multitude of cute designer-y reusable shopping bags available online, but as I must share my bags (and shopping duties) with a man, I especially love that this set doesn't contain "unmanly" colors. If I'd shelled out more at the baggu website, I could've picked all the colors myself, but these are just fine.

I couldn't ask for better shopping totes!
So here's the skinny. Pretty factor- yup, they totally got that going on. The colors are vivid without being obnoxious. Functionality- got that AND a bag of chips. Well, technically the bag of chips is inside of them but you get my drift. I have used them for everything from eggs and bread to trips to Home Despot. You just can't rip them! And a TON of space. I have never had to use more than two on any grocery trip. Having five of them is extremely handy. I have two in each of the purses I use the most and a standby one in my car. No "Oh darn, I forgot to bring my bag!" action. They are super easy to clean too. Damp wash cloth and BAM, just like new. Every time I bust them out, the checkout person has to look them over and 9 times out of 10 comments on how great they are. I have to agree, they are pretty great. You definitely won't regret this purchase. Even if you don't care about reducing your long term impact on the environment, these are WAY easier to carry than normal plastic bags. You can sling them up on your shoulder like you would a purse, thereby freeing up your hands to do things like unlock doors and preventing escapist pets from making a break for it. Two thumbs way up.

Love BAGGU bags!
I bought these bags from the company site several months ago and have really gotten into the habit of using them for everything. I can get a grocery cart full into 5 bags because they have gussets at the bottom and will stand up when you stuff them full. They are so strong and the colors are great. I can throw the full bags over my shoulders and get the groceries into my house much more quickly. People comment about them everywhere I go, they are distinctive and simple looking. So glad to see them on AMAZON, now I can tell people where to get them and they will remember what I said!
