Made my mom smile
I gave this to my mom, she laughed and was able to identify with the book. I read it too and enjoyed it. I think it depends on where you are in your treatment. If you need to laugh and are around others who won't or don't know how too, then this is a refreshing book. Sometimes when familes are dealing with this disease, they are afraid to laugh. And to see my mom smile, during a time when she knew what the outcome was, well it made all the difference in the world. It is a short book.
Very funny, yet frank depiction of hair loss
Ms. Clifford captures the humor of the highly emotional experience of being treated for cancer. She focuses mostly on hair loss (hence the title), but also on radiation and chemo. Laughter is great medicine, so I suggest you add this book to the treatment regimine of any woman going through cancer treatment.
Not worth it.
I read this book in about 15 minutes. While there were some humorous illustrations it was not a worthwhile read. I bought this book hoping it would help me through my situation, maybe my expectations were too high.
