Expensive, but it works quite well for any camera with SU-800
I'm on a dual Canon and Nikon system. I love the Nikon CLS system and have the legendary 105mm f/2.8 VR, SU-800, R1C1(R200), and a couple of SB-600/800 that I shoot products with, like diamonds, rings, and jewelry in general. This is the setup I use 80% of the time, and I absolutely love it.

Occasionally, I need a repro ratio beyond 1:1, and since Nikon doesn't have a lens that would give me beyond 1:1 repro ratio, I bought the amazing Canon MP-E 65mm (which Nikon has no equivalent of) that I also love along with a cheap Rebel body. Here is a problem: you really need a flash when you use the Canon MP-E 65mm at 5X because there simply isn't enough light.

I could either buy the Canon MR-14EX at $420, or Canon MT-24EX at $605. I'd get Canon's e-TTL2 with these two nice flash. However, I just couldn't justify buying more Canon equipments than I really need. So here is something I did instead: I got the SC-30 cables. I'd mount the SU-800 on the Rebel (not a problem since you get the same main contacts, while taping up Canon/Nikon specific pins), then connect the SU-800 to the R200 flash via this SC-30. Voila! Now I can re-use the Nikon R200 flashes with my Canon + MP-E 65mm. I've just saved myself an extra $320, and a lot of space.

Yes you lose Canon's e-TTL2, but when you're shooting macro/micro, you get much more consistent results with full manual exposure and manual flash control anyways.

The SC-30 is made by Nikon, and almost all the gold rimmed lenses and pro-sumer bodies I have Nikon have legendary built quality built, so normally I'd give this cable 5 stars. However, it's just over-priced IMHO. I'd be happy if it were $50, but that's not the case. Thus, the 4 stars.
