Buy new: Too low to display woohoo!!! you HAVE to get a wideangle especially with the cropped sensor and this is the widest it gets... yes sure some distortion at 10mm end and not fast at all but most landscape you'll be increasing you aperature to get the depth of field right and the tokina 11-16 is NEVER in stock.... if you're not convinced check out the pools on flickr and see what people have done wiht this lens!

Buy new: $322.58 / Used from: $249.95 is 1.4 worth it? if you love portraits and getting those piercing eyes just makes the picture explode for you... then yes! you're going to feel worse getting the 1.8 and wishing you had the bokeh of the 1.4... plus, the sturdier build of the 1.4 is nice with the d300 body... but ya, i've only found (so far) the desire for the extra bokeh on those piercing eyes black and white portraits...
