Another forgotten treasure!
America's second collaboration with legendary Beatles producer, Sir George Martin. While not as polished as their first album with Martin (Holiday), this is still a very strong album and was a big hit in the US in 1975 hitting number 4 on the Billboard album chart and becoming a million seller. Contains the number 1 hit Sister Golden Hair, along with two other hits Daisy Jane and Woman Tonight. Also contains several album cuts that received a lot of airplay in the 70's including Bell Tree, Midnight, and Old Virginia (which would have been a hit had it been released as a single). A must for any America or 70's music fan!
Sir George Martin made a great work in this Album!
Even when it becomes obvious that America wasn't The Fab Four, certainly the work that Sir George Martin made as producer of this "Hearts" album is outstanding.
The quality of the sound, as well as the careful instrumentation you hear in songs as "Seasons", "Tomorrow" and "Company", make this album an instantaneous "Must Have".
In adittion, you have very nice standard 'Radio' hits, like "Daisy Jane", "Sister Golden Hair" and "Woman Tonight".
I recommend this album to any serious 70s Pop Music collector, as well as to those far younger than myself, who are just discovering the musical treasures of that 'Marvelous Decade'!
One of the two albums to get.
If you weren't looking for a "Best of America" album, it was very hard to find these albums on CD in the USA for a long time. Finally they are readily available via Amazon.com. If you want to own original albums by America and not buy them all, the two albums to get are Hearts and Holiday. They contain almost all the recognizable songs you heard on the radio by them ,plus you get several other nice ones. They are both excellent. All the other albums are just OK containing one or two hits with the rest of the material marginal.
