Customer Reviews
Great bag, but could be better!
I was looking for a camera bag that I could easily take on a day hike and would allow the camera to be easily accessible and still provide room to take some water and snacks with me. Other brands had some of these features but they were not really conceived for sports or hiking (so they did not provide things like a belt or chest attachment). This is the only bag out there that I'm aware of that does all these things.
The bag looks good and is comfortable to carry. The camera compartment is pretty tight, so you'll need some imagination to fit a camera with a lens attached together with a spare lens. I can fit a Canon XSi with a Sigma 10-20 attached and a Tamron 17-50 f2.8 in the camera compartment. There is not much room left there. Not even for filters.
The main compartment is pretty small too, and you could fit a small book or two and a couple fruits or snacks. For short day hikes I guess this is "ok" if you don't plan to eat a lot or someone else hiking with you is carrying a bag a well.
The pocket on the bottom of the bag is a little strange but I guess they didn't know where to put an extra pocket to hold small accessories. I would have preferred an "All weather" cover like the one found in the Lowepro AW line... just in case it rains heavily. By the way, the zippers are very tight, maybe a little too tight, so they're difficult to move around... opening and closing the bag can be hectic. However, that helps to keep the water out and I guess it lowers the chances of your gear being stolen. The tight zippers are in the camera compartment and the lower pocket at the bottom of the bag (they don't show pictures of this pocket in the product images). The other zippers (main compartment, water pouch compartment) are normal zippers.
I have a very small tripod (Manfrotto 785 modo maxi) and it fits on the side mesh pocket. I fear that I could eventually damage the mesh in the long run but that's the only place I found to carry the tripod. I wish the people at Clik had thought about having a little loop to attach a small tripod (on the side or the bottom of the bag, it wouldn't be that complicated).
The bag is somewhat overpriced I feel, but it's the only one out there with all of these features. Because of the price and the lack of a tripod loop and an all weather cover I gave it 4 stars.
